Training camp is done!

It’s hard to put into words all that took place during these four weeks. The Lord was moving in me and throughout my squad and it was beautiful to see!

Throughout the last week we got to do simulations of kids ministry, writing sermons, and house visits! It was a learning experience! Especially when your fellow squad mates are the kids, who get to act like misbehaving 5-12 year olds, and you only have 10 minutes to prepare a lesson, song, and game and then present it.

Each day this past week, we had an opportunity to go out into Gainesville and do ministry! It was really sweet to see how the Lord worked through our team and also see the relationship’s between each of us strengthen!

On Thursday my ministry was preparing for a Beauty for Ashes event on campus. Me and 3 others on my squad got asked to be a part of a women’s ministry that we will run in each of the countries we travel to, and so we got the opportunity to host an event for all of the ladies on base. The event was really special! All the girls on campus dressed up and we got to worship together and then discuss our identities and how God cancels out the lies that the Devil tells us. We ended the night washing and anointing each others feet. It is such a sweet time of community!! I am really looking forward to seeing how God is going to use this ministry throughout these next 8 months.

Training camp has been such a sweet season of life! I have grown in intimacy with the Lord so much and He has revealed to my heart the true freedom and joy that is found in Him. I see the the Gospel in a new light, the blood of Jesus means everything and it’s only by the blood that we are saved. Praise God! I want to encourage you to never get used to the Gospel, stand in awe of it each morning.

I would really appreciate prayers for the travelling that’s coming up!! The girls of both gap year squads leave for Florida tomorrow and all the guys will be travelling to Kentucky. After completing a week of disaster relief in these places we’ll be coming back to the AIM base and then we’ll be flying to Guatemala on October 14!

I can’t wait to spend these next 8 months with gap W! I love you guys so much:)
